The meaning of life

We must ask ourselves what we can do or be while living this small period on Earth. Whether there is another life or not, there are people in need who live far from the world’s wealth and have been convinced that their suffering is a passport to an eternal and happy life. We may say there is a kind of conspiracy to keep poor people (not only materially, but also spiritually) suffering and dreaming of another life in heaven. Meanwhile, a few people retain political and economic power and are able to enjoy their lives fully.
In reality, all of us search for “the meaning of life” and wonder why we are here and what we must do to escape the situation we are in; whether it is destiny or luck.
The great question is understanding that there is no “meaning of life” if we have no dreams and nothing to fight for, work towards, and achieve. Basically, “the meaning of life” is the pursuit of dreams, whether they are great or simple, but really ours.
If we are only here to live day after day and wait for the following morning to begin again, then our way of life may become a kind of torture and a burden on our souls, and life may gradually turn into a heavy challenge.
Thus, when we pursue goals, perhaps this mindset becomes “the meaning of life”. Of course, social and economic conditions are not the same for everyone. These differences create an unequal and often impossible competition for some people. How can we ask people in need to dream if they have no options or minds to secure their next meal and simply survive?
Everyone has dreams and tries to understand “the meaning of life”. Unfortunately, few have opportunities or conditions to keep moving forward, while some privileged people are able to dream and succeed as if their goals were ordinary achievements. Others can dream but achieve only what’s possible within their limits; dreams depend on personal circumstances. The majority are restricted and surrounded by difficulties; thus, they may achieve very little, not even a piece of their dreams.
In summary, “the meaning of life” is often limited by each person’s intellectual and financial conditions. Nothing is more unfair than demanding this meaning from those who do not have the conditions or opportunities to understand what pursuit.
Of course, many people reach their goals and are celebrated like heroes. This reality often hides the vast mass of people who will never reach their goals. Unfortunately, some who rise from poverty and achieve success may distance themselves from their origins and embrace a world that wants to exclude them. For these “winners”, “the meaning of life” may become like the privileged people who often criticise the very world in which they came.
Therefore, for those who achieve their goals despite their difficulties, “the meaning of life” should be to remember their origins and work hard to break this cycle of inequality.
The great meaning of life is fighting for others.
