The bad, the very bad and the worst

We often hear that life is divided between good and evil, driven by good or bad reasons. From this perspective, life would be simple if we could put each piece in its place. Yet, it remains unclear what is good or evil. This understanding depends on people and their personal interests – whether they see something as good or bad, or how they relate to these concepts.
People have good or bad reasons to support their points of view because, for every decision they make, they find reasons to justify their actions, depending on their will or interest. Usually, even when we disagree with others’ opinions, we try to find reasons to continue debating and to sustain our ideas.
Thus, even if ideas diverge, we will always defend our own and find a way to make them acceptable. On the other hand, those who disagree will look for weak reasons to reject them.
Humanity often tries to organise ways to achieve universal fraternity, and this is a good idea. Nevertheless, some people will try to find reasons against these proposals. Segregating human beings into castes can be seen as good for some and bad for others. Basically, these issues divide people into two groups: some try to justify their views through religion, economic interests, and other arguments, believing it is good for humanity to be divided into castes; meanwhile, others try to dismantle these arguments, based on their own sound reasons.
Yet, life would be simple if it were only a binary world.
There is a choice, shaped by life experiences, that leads us to choose between the bad and the worse. If we understand the difference between good and evil, we must also understand that there is the bad and the worst.
There are situations in which evil may seem like a better option if something wrong were to lie ahead. So, we need to learn how to deal with both. People often say that evil cannot exist forever. Perhaps, in their view, evil can become worse, and then it can turn into the worst.
We often face horrible, inhuman and unsafe situations, for instance, when we hear arguments that we cannot take seriously. If we believe them, we may fall into something deeper, and evil will find another way to lead us astray.
Arguments have limits of coherence, and beyond them, they can push the world towards extreme and uncontrolled situations that we cannot imagine, not even in fiction. These events disrupt the meaning of our lives, as we see different people asserting their reasons to defend their positions or dismissing different ideas. When both sides use cruel reasoning to defend their arguments, evil takes control. Those who scour the web for doc or harmful content may eventually reach the Deep Web, an abyss of moral decay that survives in some minds. When we reject and ignore such places and refine our judgment, we are finally confronting the worst elephant in the room.
