Silence is revolutionary
When a wolf peers at our movements from the top of a hill, it is as if it sees us through an imaginary curtain, leaning on a windowsill. Its posture exudes calm and dominance that may disturb our senses and, even though the distance is great, make us feel threatened.
A gaze, more powerful than a gun pointed at us, carries more weight than a great orator’s speech to an audience. It is like an actor who doesn’t need applause and is certain that it dominates the stage.
At times, the revolutionary is as silent as our secrets, which we have no interest in sharing or understanding. Like the gaze of wolves and their subtle movements, our secrets are solitary beings that can reveal our so well-hidden fears.
We need an inner revolution to confront them. We must draw back the curtains that hide these secrets. An inner revolution is about convincing ourselves to understand this mystery that watches us, waiting for the moment when we will awaken and recognise our true selves.
An inner revolution is understanding the world we have built inside ourselves, secretly, over time. The gaze of the wolf is always within us, ready to unsettle our certainties. It represents the moment when we abandon our prejudices to create a new world of knowledge.
When we surrender our secrets, it is as if the wolf stands up and walks slowly, seeking fresh air, the open sea, the horizon that opens our minds to a deeper sense of enlightenment. The solitary wolf is freer than those who stay close to ordinary people and sit at a comfortable table, far from the real world.
We are always in solitude, with our secrets like solitary wolves watching us, calm and quiet, from the next hill. Our secrets have been there for a long time. They have learnt to live with our weaknesses, and they don’t care what others think. Our secrets are dominant because they possess this quality.
Secrets don’t need an audience for us to experience the drama or comedy of our lives. Sometimes they are pathetic, nonsensical, irrelevant, or faded. Secrets don’t need an audience, and like solitary wolves, they will one day rise and ignore our will and fears, walking, calm and quiet, towards the pack.
