Indifference

Indifference is the behaviour of those who don’t care what others think. Indifferent individuals don’t see differences between people, and don’t care what is happening around them,  involving people or events. They do not react to tragedies and continue pursuing their goals because they believe everything will be all right.
Likes attract likes; indifferent individuals have their own interests. Ordinary people help each other; indifferent individuals form alliances. In summary, indifferent people tend to think only about their own future, forming associations while society slowly falls apart.
When someone makes a difference, it is not always something positive. If a person doesn’t care about tragedies or personal drama, we may say that they make a difference; however. It is a negative one.
Indifferent people are cowardly because they dissimulate, lie and create discord. They misuse beautiful words so that they appear sincere. They cite God as an example, while others try to follow Him.
These people are not always powerful; often, they are just those who have little to offer; whether they hold power or not. Their behaviour seeks to convey confidence, and they want to appear more valuable than others. Indifferent people walk down the streets and fail to see the tragedy of those who sleep outside and live in need. Over time, this detachment becomes a habit, and this behaviour harms, destroys and causes frustration.
Detachment disguises itself in politics and ideologies. At times, it is hidden within beautiful and well-prepared speeches, but these individuals speak only to their hypnotised followers, who wait for the day when they too can show their detachment through money and power. Indifferent people present their behaviour as ideal, trying to convince others that their success came from their hard work rather than from the opportunities they were given.
They speak about freedom because they believe they have conquered it. We are not truly free simply because we are equals; we are free when we care about others. And there is no freedom while there is suffering on either side, whether among indifferent people or those affected by them.
