Our differences
Everyone, or at least some people, want to make a difference or stand out from ordinary individuals. Let me explain. There is a feeling within us yearning to be the one who makes a difference. Whether solving scientific problems, addressing social and economic issues, or becoming an amazing athlete or artist who inspires people around the world – we often imagine ourselves as charismatic figures admired for our talents and achievements. I believe that sometimes these thoughts occupy the minds of individuals, and there is nothing wrong or reprehensible about them.
If I could define this behaviour, in my opinion, it is an act of envisioning success, overcoming life obstacles and finally reaching that desirable place.
We can organize our lives in the same way a business person runs a company, and just like in business, secrets are the best weapons we have. Should we share our dreams, revealing our ambitions? Some believe if they expose their goals, this gaffe will attract envy, which might destroy their dreams. Achievements will become impossible to reach, and those who believe in these superstitions will tend to attribute their failures to others.
So, we may say that secrets are the keys to preserving our personal spaces, setting us apart from others. Dreams exist to be dreamed, not necessarily to be shared – unless they involve a team, an organization, or a nation working towards a common goal.
In my opinion, the best dreams are those we experience alone – dreams that remain secrets, known only to ourselves. Planning them secretly is the best strategy for making them a reality.
No, no one can launch an invisible ray from their mind to dismantle our achievements. But some believe in such things and insist that it is important not to share them. Okay, I have no expertise to argue about that.
The true differences and real secrets lie in vision, the kind of insight that boosts our imagination, an epiphany that is able to predict the future, much like an entrepreneur or an inventor, and not a fortune teller. The secret is identifying opportunities and not procrastinating on ideas.
At times, these opportunities are hidden, right in front of us, behind others’ words, readings and events we fail to understand. Maybe this is the greatest secret of a pro: understanding the signs of an event that no one else is paying attention to. It’s like deceiving misfortune by pretending that we are not thinking about it, in reality, always observing.
