What we are

We are disappointed when we arrive in the future and become what we never imagined we would be. How often do we map out our lives according to our desires, only to dream of the day we can sit on a porch, smile at the horizon, and say, I made it!
On the other hand, is there a difference between living a life without surprises or mistakes and a life that surprises us all the time, showing us unknown paths full of smiles? It’s like exchanging a perfect life through a labyrinth, facing unknown places and finally being to say, in another way, I made it!
Living the comfort of a perfect life is like unwrapping a gift and knowing beforehand what’s inside. On the other hand, when we unwrap a package and have no idea what’s inside, we might find something we never imagined or… nothing at all!
Life without surprises is like walking along a longer and safer path instead of trying a shorter and more surprising one. If we don’t jump into the dark, we won’t explore other worlds. When we choose the longer path, we stay in our comfort zone and see nothing different.
Who would have the better story to tell: those who know how to organise a perfect life or adventurers? Some people enjoy a life without surprises, with nothing to disturb them. Others sit around a fire to tell of their adventures and capture people’s attention. Adventurers tell us about peculiar human behaviours around the world and walk in unknown places, facing incredible journeys. They tell us stories from worlds we will never see, because the ‘incredible’ doesn’t exist in organised worlds. People who stay in their comfort zone only repeat boring routines.
Living the same story every day will never be more fascinating than living a different story every day.
When we experience the unknown, it has its pros and cons: we can smile or cry, feel fear and feel our tears running down our faces. How many lessons can be learned from adventures? If we plan our lives to have no surprises, it is like living in a mathematical world where the result is always the same. Real life is living with the unknown; It is like filling a page with words to tell a story, creating what does not exist, playing with the impossible, and building different worlds.
When we do not become who we could be, we become boring masters who force others to follow our paths, turning the world into a monotonous routine. If we have no idea of what we can be, we become masters of disguise, sharing shortcuts we have found and revealing an imaginary world that only those who seek challenges can really experience.
