Old friend

        There are secret moments in our life when the night is ahead and our head rolls on the pillow, and the old friend of the night journey wipes our tears or celebrates our smile of a goal we achieved.
        At night, with his dark cloak, is the beginning of a silent movie designed in our minds. We are the heroes of our stories. We remember our past and rebuild things that happened to us. At night, we smile secretly and cry tears of regret, or we ask the world to stop because we are going down. Or we feel protected after a bad adventure.
         We cry. We regret something. We promise that we will fix our mistakes or reorganize our lives, and finally, we will deal with the challenge at sunrise. Then, strategies come to our minds, and a mental chess keeps us alert.
         Life stops in the night. We put our heads on the silent confessor that receives us and takes care of us. Adversities cause discomfort, and disrupt our sleeping, and don’t let us forget, and the clock watch runs to the morning.
         Our eyes are opened and melted with the darkness and house sounds. The water falls from the tap, and its unknown sound is hidden during the day. Doors beat far away. The neighbourhood sounds are lost in dreams. A lost dog in the street barks to the night, looking for a safe place to sleep. Or the one, protected in his home, who rejected his partner doesn’t hear it, and now it wanders in the street, alone. Pillow is democratic, it embraces everybody.
         It’s a fight against memories. The pillow, the night partner, forgotten during the day, receives us with a smile. It wipes our tears and our soul, and enjoys us. It is the partner of victories or defeats. Now it is the adviser of our problems, ready to make the best decision for the day after.
         An old pillow made of white cotton, clean and soft, a partner for the trip through the night. A confidant that keeps in its skin the scent of the lovers’ hair scattered on it, who went away earlier and left us their remembrances.
         One day, he will be old and hard after supporting our pains on it, and our old friend will be changed for others. New partners, ready to help us in our daydreams to fix our mistakes.
