Inside us
There is a volcano within us, ready to erupt if we do not know how to deal with our conflicts. The world urges us to share and reflect on our humanity and how we connect with life and one another. However, when we are faced with different opinions, we may suffer consequences. It is important to ask ourselves whether it is worth opening a door, or, in other words, whether it’s worth answering complicated questions about people’s lives and behaviours?
Opinions have always varied, but nowadays they seem to be becoming even more confusing and difficult to understand. Maybe they have always been hard to grasp, and we simply didn’t notice. Sometimes we find ourselves on social media, chatting with strangers, even though we know that there are bots wandering around. We can compare these bots to predators who throw stones into clear water to stir things up and trap people in meaningless discussions.
Some people may say these bots are just fake news, and that the users are real people. But we know that, in the virtual world, it is easy to create a fake profile.
I have argued on social networks using credible points, and I believed that my questions would be answered. Instead, I was met with silence, while absurd comments were being debated. My conclusion was that people are tired, and among them, there is anger. Some even seem to enjoy arguing about nothing at all.
Of course, keeping our emotions inside us is a difficult task. Then it is like a volcano ready to erupt.
I believe that life presents us with many doors, and we must decide whether or not to open them.
From the outward appearance of a house, we can often sense whether it’s worth entering, because inside, we might find only emptiness. Keeping our feelings to ourselves helps us recognise the emptiness, because you cannot find anything where there is nothing to show.
The question is: how can we deal with our feelings? All methods are difficult and none are easy. Some people manage it; others don’t. Our task is to avoid people who try to provoke us. To reach this point, it’s necessary to stay alert at all times.
If a door opens before us, and we already know there is nothing worthwhile beyond it. Then, naturally, we understand we won’t find anything if we are not really looking for it.
