Holding hands
Holding hands has many meanings. Normally, when someone is conducting others, anywhere. A man and a woman leave the church holding hands. An emotional mother holding hands encourages her son on the first day at school, or a worried mother holding hands goes back home with her son after his bad behaviour there.
A young or mature couple holding hands walk in the streets to watch store windows, look for a seat in the cinema or stay on the pavement as if they are alone to enjoy a particular world where their hands know the path.
If one of them isn’t closer to the other, one smiles from afar, and his lover tries to guess his thoughts. Maybe they don’t imagine intense looks are memories from the known body. They keep looking at each other because their smiles don’t stop, and their illuminated looks wonder what they are thinking or feeling at that moment.
Two kids holding hands go playing, and others meet each other.
Two people holding hands can talk alone, can sleep together, and imagine they live in their dreams as if the sleep was only a break in their lives.
Two people holding hands can enjoy a subject in common. They can use their fingers to point in any direction, and their hands look for each other. Hands are magnets that attract people, and the world disappears, and lovers cannot imagine where they are going. Their hands are alone, and they want and feel the feverish love coming from their fingers to fire up their bodies when they connect them. Hands balance in the air when lovers walk like a dance and listen to a song only their ears hear.
Holding hands is a safe place to support and help people. They are a hug waiting for compliments. People are expecting the future, or they are satisfied with simple things that they did a few times ago.
Holding hands is affection, to write letters in the air, and nobody can read. They are codes, sweet touches asking for attention, or they are passionate words. They can be separated, distant or angry, but if they are together, there is confidence. They are rings that nobody can break.
For lovers, holding hands is a signal that a kiss is coming.
